The Megalochori, just minutes away from the caldera, is a white-washed village with picturesque pebbled narrow streets and the most charming main square. The villa is just a couple of minutes away from the plethora of small stores and tavernas of Megalochori, including Ilios and Petra, and Raki, the choices of international celebrities. Guest can laze away in the open air lounge area, protected from the sun, or have fun in the outdoor private Jacuzzi.
This two-floor private villa dates back to the 19th century and is built using local materials and techniques, crafted in centuries of house building on the island, to maintain a cool temperature during hot summers and maximizing available spaces. It is a Feng Shui and Geomancy certified Villa.
The interior is tastefully decorated with minimalist and fine antique pieces, making excellent use of the Mediterranean natural light. In the multi-functional room you can even do your morning yoga or meditate and after dinner you can all gather and watch a summer movie in a state of the art home-cinema.
The villa is perfect for a group of friends who wish to explore the authentic Santorini, without abandoning their smaller or bigger luxurious amenities. Its large and spacious interior fits two families, allowing plenty of personal space.
The Ground floor has three bedrooms, one of which is detached from the main building and one bathroom (WC + shower). At the same level there is a fully equipped kitchen with a dining table and the Multifunctional room (60m2) that can be used as a cinema room (equipment with home cinema and sound system) or as a meditation-yoga center.
On the first floor there is the living room, the fourth bedroom and one bathroom (WC + shower).
The outdoor space features an open air lounge area with table and loungers, protected from the sun and a heated Jacuzzi for 4-5 persons.
The original structure has been sensitively renovated, preserving all its original elements, indicating its long history in Santorini. The beautiful organic shape and proportions of the smooth walls, vaulted ceilings and arched openings tell the story of the building and how it was constructed by carving into the soft pumice stone of the village hills.
